St. Mary's Church of England (VC) Primary SchoolAs the new part time Y2 teacher at St Mary's, I am really looking forward to getting to know everyone and creating a fantastic learning experience for all the children.

I have been teaching for the last 12 years in schools in Warwickshire and Northamptonshire after gaining my teaching qualifications at the University of Hull and the University of East Anglia. I have taught mostly in Key Stage 2 in the last few years and am really looking forward to working in Key Stage 1 this year with the Robins. During my career, I have also worked as a Learning Adviser , supporting schools in Northamptonshire to teach modern languages. During my non-teaching days, I also work for the University of Buckingham as a PGCE tutor, helping trainee teachers begin their teaching careers.

I have 2 wonderful little children and a very cuddly dog at home and we always enjoy going swimming and to the park as a family. I love singing and music and am part of a ladies' choir in Northamptonshire. Running and cycling keep me busy too and I recently cycled 60 miles overnight through Central London to raise money for charity. If I ever get a quiet few moments to myself, you'll find me curled up in the garden, reading a good book!

I started teaching at St Mary's in September 2013 as an NQT in Year 1 and since then I have taught in Early Years Foundation Stage as the Reception Teacher and have been the EYFS Co-Ordinator. I currently work part-time and teach Robin Class (Year 2) on Thursday and Friday as well as working in EYFS on Tuesday afternoon.

I'm passionate about enabling children to achieve their full potential and I love teaching because I love to hear the excitement in children's voices and see the joy on their faces when they grasp a new concept or skill.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family here in Banbury and in Liverpool, and making the most of my National Trust membership by finding out about different historical places and exploring their beautiful gardens and grounds.
