David Phillips - Swans Class

St. Mary's Church of England (VC) Primary SchoolDear Parents and Carers,

I am very excited to begin a new year, 2018, with teaching all the wonderful children in Swan Class! As many of you will know, I taught the current Year 3 children last year for two afternoons a week and am pleased to now be teaching them full-time.

I have been a Qualified Teacher since 2004, after graduating from Oxford Brookes University, and have taught at several Church of England Schools within the county of Oxfordshire.

I very much appreciate the creative side of the planning and teaching process, and enjoy all subject areas, especially when I can see the creativity in the outcomes of the children's work.

As a keen gardener, I have been working on my garden for nearly twenty-three years, and it is my pride and joy - my mini-park, as I like to call it. I also take great interest in art and poetry, and enjoy visiting places of historical interest.

I have lived in Banbury virtually all of my life and consider myself a true Banbarian! I also have quite a few pets – two tortoises, Timmy and Tara, my little dog, Smudge, and my fish who is called Edie.
