Kingfishers - Year 1: The Tiny Seed
This term our topic is 'The Tiny Seed'. We have had a busy start to the term, with lots of planting and investigating! We started the term by looking at a variety of seeds and predicting what they will grow into. We then planted those seeds and have been able to watch them grow. Some of the plants are getting very tall and we know need to plant them outside!

We have also been on a plant hunt. We had to search the garden and the field to find a variety of different plants. After we found a plant we then had to find out what the name of the plant was. As well as searching for plants we have been learning about deciduous and evergreen trees. We have been looking closely at some of the leaves and been creating bark rubbings to investigate the patters on tree trunks.

In English we have been looking at the book 'TREE'. The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning all about the seasons through this beautifully illustrated poem. We have created our own spring tree art work and have written sentences describing our spring trees using a range of vocabulary.
