About Us: Who's Who

Senior Leadership Team
Headteacher - Mrs Victoria Woods
I have been a teacher for 23 years working in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire in a wide variety of schools. My passion for learning is rooted in my own education when as a young child I attended a variety of different schools due to my father being in the RAF. This led me to really appreciate and understand the difference teachers and schools can make to a child’s life and when I left University I wanted to be part of making that difference to children myself.
I am incredibly proud to be Headteacher at St Mary's, a position I took up in September 2015 having previously been Headteacher at 2 other Oxfordshire schools and also having spent 5 years working for the Local Authority supporting school facing all sorts of challenges.
The team here at St Mary’s are second to none and work tirelessly to offer our children a rich and varied educational experience, never accepting second best. We have lots of fun and I love celebrating our children's success with them. It is true to say I am lucky enough to have the best job in the world!
Assistant Headteacher / SENCo - Ms Sara Bailey
I have been teaching now for 17 years and am very excited to starting my third year here at St Mary's. I am especially delighted to be part of the learning journey of such wonderfully enthusiastic children!
I share my current role as Assistant Head with my colleague Sarah Di Giorno, and together with Mrs Reeves, we work alongside Mrs Woods on many aspects of school life. My specific responsibilities include coordinating Special Educational Needs across school and I also have a key role in Safeguarding.
St Mary's is a fantastic community to be part of and one of the most enjoyable and rewarding features of my job is getting to know our families and working together to support the learning and development of our pupils.
Assistant Headteacher - Mrs Sarah Di Giorno
I am positive and passionate about my work, leading, inspiring and motivating others to give of their best. I love working in a school where the staff all work together to create stimulating and challenging learning environments to engage and motivate our children. I share the role of Assistant Head with my colleague Sara Bailey. I have responsibility for learning in Phase 3 (y4,5,and 6) as well as leading English across the school. I coordinate RE and I am the SIAMs lead for St Mary's.
It is a privilege to work in a fantastic primary school within the heart of a great community of adults and children alike.
Assistant Headteacher - Mrs Helena Reeves
I have been teaching for over 10 years and started my career at St Mary's Primary School in 2008. I absolutely love teaching in Key Stage 1 where most of my experience is, helping children to be successful and independent and being part of their learning journey. I really enjoy working at St Mary's School, being part of such an incredible team of staff makes such a difference. Looking forward to a new challenge, working with Year 4 and the rest of the Key Stage 2 before going on maternity leave before Christmas.
I have had a number of different leadership roles within the school, currently I am one of the Assistant Heads who leads on assessment and data throughout the whole school. I have also led Phonics and Maths through the whole school. I am really passionate about getting children to work alongside the older generation. While I was training as a teacher at University, I worked as a care assistant in a Nursing Home. Last year we began making links with Highmarket House and it would be great if the school continues and develops this work.

Home School Community Link Work
Mrs Christine Stephens
I have been with St. Mary’s School for over ten years supporting children and families. I am passionate about helping people and I love my job. I have worked in jobs where I have supported people for over 30 years. My past job roles have included supporting the homeless, the addicted, the abused, sick children and premature babies. I am also a member of British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. (BACP)
As you can imagine I have supported lots of families over the years with all sorts of things. So I always say to people don’t be afraid to ask for help or feel embarrassed because there is nothing that we haven’t seen or heard before and I always know what to do or where to go to find the right help. It’s always a great feeling when we find an answer to a difficulty and make someone feel better.
I am a Christian and I believe in the power of prayer and I am always happy to pray for parents or children at St. Marys. You will often see me standing by the school gate in the mornings as I welcome children parents and children into school. Come and say 'Hello'.
